Content Writing Services
{ About Me }
Content writing services was not my first career choice.
I wanted to be a fiction writer!
My journey as a writer began in 2005 after leaving the legal field to pursue a creative career. My aptitude for putting complex ideas into digestible words naturally drew me towards becoming a freelance writer.
Completely fed up with life in Sheffield, I moved to Amsterdam for a year to hone my craft.
I failed and went back into the legal field.
After eight months, the banking crisis prompted the firm I was working for to make cuts. I was given redundancy with a one-month salary.
I decided to give writing one last shot.
Armed with a paltry profile of published articles in my specialist subjects (music and football), I headed off to London "...where the pavements are lined with gold!"
Never saw any gold, but I was given plenty of opportunities to expand my portfolio.
I even had some success as a fiction writer. Several of my short stories were published and I even collaborated on a play for BBC Radio 4.
But fiction writing was not going to pay the bills.
Three years later, I was not earning a sufficient income from writing.
In 2008, SEO content writing was entering the business arena.
I recognised an opportunity.
I studied Google’s search engine guidelines and figured out how to make websites rank.
By 2011, my earnings had more than quadrupled. I was earning enough to go travelling and for the next 13 years, lived overseas as a digital nomad; South America, Southeast Asia, Europe! Así es la vida.
In 2024, I returned to the UK to care for my mother. She has Alzheimer’s. I work from an office in her back garden.
Without any overheads you pay for with most content writing agencies, I can pass the cost savings onto my clients and charge reasonable rates for strategic content writing services.
{ Testimonials }
2010 was a boon for content writing services.
Several "middleman" platforms found work for me. All I had to do was submit a bid and pay a small commission.
When I was travelling, the vast majority of my earnings came from People Per Hour (PPH). Other bits and bobs from bits and bobs of copy I wrote for foreign businesses.
At one point I was among the top 10 ranking freelancers on PPH. Not just the best top-ranking content writers, but the best freelancers.
My success was because of the amount of positive feedback I received, and mostly because of the repeat orders.
Repeat orders meant PPH kept earning too. So they promoted my profile to the top. I didn't have to look for clients anymore. Clients came to me.
Here's what people said about my work.

However, to dedicate the time and focus needed to manage a digital marketing strategy, I only have the bandwidth to work with 4 MSPs at any one time.
